Joan Bowen has a wealth of learning & development design and delivery experience, having worked within large private and public-sector organisations in diverse learning & development roles for over 20 years. Having set up her own company, Eudaemon, in 2017 she now offers organisational development consultancy, L&D strategy development and hands-on training for public and private organisations which include NHS England, King’s Health Partners, South London and Maudsley Hospital, Takeda, Janssen and Matrix APA to date. She partners with Inspiramos to deliver coaching support to field-based staff in the pharmaceutical sector across the UK.
With commercial experience plus a strong academic background in psychology, Joan brings a unique blend of business acumen and organisational psychology expertise. Having completed her Masters in Organisational Psychology & Psychiatry at King’s College, London, she has a passion for the human side of work, mental health and well-being at work along with contemporary appreciation of current academic trends in positive psychology, leadership, personal development and teamwork.
Joan has strong people and project management skills along with significant experience in building blended learning approaches, developing leaders and coaching performance. Being a qualified teacher, her formal grounding in educational pedagogy has contributed to her desire to provide practical, engaging training that has a lasting impact and ensures the learning is immediately applicable when back at work.
Joan’s post graduate qualification in acting also makes her a strong presentations skills trainer and coach. She is a certified Six Thinking Hats® Trainer and an accredited Insights Discovery™ Facilitator. She is Associate Trainer for The Maudsley Hospital’s Mental Health Promotion Team and Associate Psychologist for PeopleWise and Maudsley International. Additionally, she is a qualified Mental Health First Aider.
